Cruise Guide to Europe and the Mediterranean is one of the Eyewitness Travel Guides by DK Publishing.

Like all the Dorling Kindersley books it is lavishly illustrated with colour photographs, 3D cutaways and floor plans and street maps throughout.

Around 70 ports of call are covered, stretching from Scandinavia and the Baltic through North West Europe to Southern Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Each port of call is allocated at least one page and sometimes as many as eight pages with detailed descriptions of key sights, tourist information, local specialities such as food, drinks and crafts and excursions.

It is split into two parts with the first part covering the history of the Mediterranean, its art,  architecture and nature plus general topics on choosing a cruise.

The second part describes all the ports of call with details of the various excursions.

This is the first edition of this new book and if provides useful information on how to find the best ship and itinerary to suit your needs.

There are overviews of all the cruise lines and their ships with colour photographs. Over 60 ports of call are reviewed with suggestions on the best ship excursions and going it alone.

Lastly there is coverage of European river cruising.
